Startup Weekend is a 54 hour event that gets technology enthusiasts, designers, business people etc together on one platforms for 2.5 days (54 hours) with the objective of co-creating a product (typically an MVP). The event is especially focused on startup enthusiasts and very early stage startups) to galvanise the startup ecosystem.
This was the first time a Startup Weekend was organized in Jaipur and infact it was the first event in Rajasthan. Around 70 people participated in the event and formed around 13 startups during the weekend.
The Jaipur edition of the event was organised by Chintan Bakshi, Dilnawaz Khan, Vimal Sharma, Sameer Jawaharni and Mohit Sharma. The event was facilitated by Anurag Maloo who is the Regional Manager – UP Global.
The event started on 22nd May (Friday) evening where Ankit Rawat from 11techsquare and Prateek Goel from Zero Waste were guest speakers. They shared their journey with the audience and motivated them to startup. After the initial introductions the action began and people pitched their ideas to the audience. The best idea were selected through open voting and then top 13 selected ideas reverse pitched to form teams.
On 23rd May (Saturday) the teams were joined by awesome mentors who worked with them throughout the day to help them refine the idea and build a robust business plan. These mentors also helped them in developing a prototype.
On the 24th May, the final day of the event, these startups presented their prototypes / MVPs to the panel of judges. The judges were experience entrepreneurs themselves and few of them were also angles.

Startup Weekend Jaipur has given Jaipur’s startup ecosystem another push and the startup culture is easily visible in the city.
